Course Fees
There are 3 types of funding available for teacher training – depending on your circumstances you could receive all three:
- Tax free bursary or scholarship
- Tuition fee loan and/or Maintenance loan
- Additional financial support if you are a parent or have a disability
Some secondary subjects will entitle you to a tax-free bursary or scholarship if you have a First; 2:1; 2:2; PhD or Master’s.
The training programme involves a charge for the tuition fee if you apply for the fee-paying option. The fees are £9250, and you can apply to the Student Loan Company for a Tuition Fee Loan or choose to self-fund and pay the SCITT directly.
You can also apply to the SLC for a Maintenance Loan, the amount to which you would be entitled would depend on your personal circumstances and household income. You would need to apply directly for any additional financial support to which you may be entitled.
